Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do conducted a joint inspection of fire-vulnerable facilities in the region from December 29 to January 31.
According to the county on the 1st, this inspection was carried out as a preventive measure in response to the recent series of fires nationwide at aging multi-use facilities such as apartment complexes and traditional markets.

The joint inspection team was formed to enhance accuracy and efficiency, consisting of the Disaster Safety Division of Jangseong County Office, facility management departments, Jangseong Fire Station, Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and private experts.
The joint inspection team visited 28 fire-vulnerable facilities including traditional markets, bus terminals, and apartment complexes to conduct ▲ safety management status checks ▲ availability of firefighting equipment ▲ evacuation route inspections ▲ safety inspections of electrical and gas facilities.
Minor issues found during the inspection were immediately addressed on site, and matters requiring further follow-up were communicated to the responsible managers.
Gwak Young-ho, Deputy Governor of Jangseong, who participated in the joint inspection, said, “Thorough inspections of fire-vulnerable facilities are essential during the winter season when heating and electric devices are frequently used. We will continue to conduct on-site inspections regularly to ensure fire prevention.”
