Baek Seung-yeop, chairman of Daeseung Group, donated 50 million won to Yeungnam University as a development fund.
On the 30th of last month, Chairman Baek met with Yeungnam University President Choi Oechul and expressed his intention to donate 50 million won to support the university's development, Yeungnam University reported on the 1st.
Chairman Baek operates Daeseung, DS Korea, and DS Global, and last year established Daeseung Innovility, leading research and development in factory automation and advanced technology in the future automobile and industrial parts sectors. The donated development fund will be used for the advancement of Yeungnam University and the nurturing of outstanding talent.

Chairman Baek Seung-yeop said, “Whenever I faced difficulties in business, professors and alumni I met at Yeungnam University were a great help. I visited the school to give back a small token of my gratitude,” adding, “As a businessperson, I will continue to engage in various activities to contribute to the development of the nation and local community.”
President Choi Oechul of Yeungnam University said, “I express my respect and gratitude to Chairman Baek Seung-yeop, who has tirelessly devoted himself to technology and research and development in the automobile and industrial parts sectors, built a large company, and practiced sharing,” and added, “Yeungnam University has grown together with the Republic of Korea. We will do our best to ensure that the development fund donated by Chairman Baek serves as a foundation to nurture talents who match the dignity of Korea as an advanced country and contribute to human society.”
