"Galaxy S24 Cheapest in Korea"… 640,000 KRW, 160,000 KRW Cheaper than US

Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB with Various Benefits Priced at 640,000 KRW
Used Trade-in Offers in US and Germany at 800,000 KRW and 1,190,000 KRW Respectively
Base Model and Launch Price Also Cheapest Domestically

Samsung Electronics' flagship on-device AI smartphone, the Galaxy S24 series, is priced the lowest in South Korea compared to the rest of the world.

According to industry sources on the 1st, as of the 31st of last month, the Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB unlocked phone sold through 'Samsung.com' has a retail price of 1,698,400 KRW. After applying trade-in discounts, instant discounts, and card discounts, the actual purchase price in South Korea is 644,900 KRW.


This price reflects returning the previous model, the Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB, for a maximum trade-in value of 950,000 KRW, plus Samsung.com instant discounts (up to 2%) and card discounts (up to 100,000 KRW).


Under the same conditions, purchasing the product in the United States, with a retail price of $1,299 and a maximum trade-in value of $750, results in a purchase price in the 800,000 KRW range (assuming a 10% tax rate), which is over 150,000 KRW more expensive than in South Korea. In Germany, with a retail price of €1,449 and a maximum trade-in value of €630, the product can be purchased for around 1,190,000 KRW, about 500,000 KRW more expensive than in South Korea.


Comparing the price of the base model Galaxy S24 by country also shows South Korea as the cheapest. When purchasing the Galaxy S24 256GB (retail price 1,155,000 KRW) in South Korea, returning the previous Galaxy S23 256GB model can yield a maximum trade-in value of 720,000 KRW. Adding Samsung.com instant discounts and card discounts, consumers can buy the product for approximately 360,000 KRW.


In the United States, purchasing the product with a retail price of $859 and a maximum trade-in value of $550 results in a purchase price in the 450,000 KRW range, about 90,000 KRW more expensive than in South Korea. In Germany, with a retail price of €959 and a maximum trade-in value of €460, the product can be purchased for around 720,000 KRW.


The retail prices of the 'Galaxy S24 series' in major countries also show South Korea as the cheapest. The price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB in South Korea is 1,698,400 KRW, while in the United States it is about 1,900,000 KRW (1,299 USD), and in Germany about 2,106,000 KRW (€1,499).
