Major Overhaul of the Korea Employment Information Service Organization... Reorganized into a 3-Headquarters System

"Strengthening Digital Strategy Functions and More"

The Korea Employment Information Service has carried out a major organizational restructuring, including the establishment of the Digital Employment Service Strategy Office.

First, it reorganized into a three-headquarters system consisting of Management, Informatization, and Research. In line with the government's innovation policy, teams were reduced through large-scale departmentalization and core tasks were reassigned.

Cybersecurity and digital strategy functions were strengthened. To create new growth engines for the future of digital employment services, the 'Digital Employment Service Strategy Office' was established. The newly established department will formulate a future blueprint for digital employment services and carry out tasks related to the construction, utilization, sharing, and opening of employment and labor data infrastructure.

To build a reliable employment service infrastructure, the existing 'Information Protection Operations Office' was reorganized into the 'Cybersecurity Unit' directly under the head of the institution, enhancing cyber threat response and personal information protection functions.

To strengthen research and planning functions supporting employment policy, departments were reorganized according to research fields. To respond quickly and agilely to changes in the employment environment, in-depth researchers who were previously affiliated with teams were assigned to each department.

The existing 'Innovation Planning Group' was reorganized into the 'Customer Communication Office,' and the 'External Cooperation Team' and 'Public Relations TF Team' were newly established to promote internal and external communication and cooperation projects.

Director Kim Young-jung said, "This organizational restructuring aimed at adjusting core functions and improving efficiency," adding, "We will create changes that the public and customers can feel and provide safer and more convenient employment services."
