Direct Market at City Hall on the 1st, Promoting Hometown Love Donation Program to Visitors and Returning Residents
Distribution of Promotional Materials and 'Garak Rice' as Thank-You Gifts to Encourage Donation Participation
On the 1st, Busan City will carry out promotional activities for the Hometown Love Donation Program in collaboration with the Busan Headquarters of NongHyup and the Busan City Federation of Farm Housewives' Associations at the City Hall Direct Market.
The City Hall Direct Market is held every Thursday in the passageway between City Hall and the Busan Police Agency.
The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate to local governments other than their registered resident address, receiving a certain percentage of tax deductions based on the donation amount and a thank-you gift worth up to 30% of the donation from the local government.
One person can donate up to 5 million KRW annually, and the donations are used for welfare improvement projects such as supporting vulnerable groups, fostering and protecting youth, and revitalizing local communities.
This promotional activity was organized to introduce the Hometown Love Donation Program to visitors, including returning holiday travelers and citizens who came to shop for the Lunar New Year, providing an opportunity for them to participate in donations to express their love for their hometown.
Promotional materials introducing the program and one of the city’s Hometown Love Donation thank-you gifts, ‘Garak Rice,’ will be distributed as souvenirs to visitors.
Kim Bong-cheol, Director of the Administrative Autonomy Bureau of the city, said, “We hope that during the Lunar New Year holiday, people will feel the warm affection of their hometown as they reunite with their beloved family and relatives after a long time, and that they will convey that sentiment to Busan through the Hometown Love Donation.” He added, “Our city will continue to make greater efforts to activate the program so that the Hometown Love Donation Program becomes a stepping stone for Busan’s development.”
