The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 31st that it visited 13 social welfare facilities in the district ahead of the Gapjin Year (甲辰年) Lunar New Year to deliver consolation goods and encourage facility officials.
Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae said, “We prepared consolation goods with the hope that this Lunar New Year would be a time to share warm affection with neighbors going through difficult times due to ongoing economic hardships such as high inflation and high interest rates.” She added, “We will continue to make efforts to enhance welfare through field-centered communication administration by directly communicating with social welfare facility officials who are dedicated on site and taking time to understand their difficulties.”
Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Council has been practicing neighborly love every year during holidays by visiting social welfare facilities that require social attention and support, delivering consolation goods, and listening to their difficulties.
