26 Organizing Committee Members Appointed, Organizing Committee Launch Ceremony Held
Scheduled for October... 20,000 Participants Including Athletes and Officials Expected
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) held the "36th Jeollanam-do Sports for All Grand Festival Organizing Committee Launch Ceremony" at the county office situation room on the 30th and began preparations for the event.
According to the county on the 31st, the "36th Jeollanam-do Sports for All Grand Festival" will be held in Wando-gun from October 18 to 20.
Competitions in 24 sports will take place at Wando Public Stadium and other sport-specific venues, with an expected attendance of approximately 21,000 athletes, officials, and spectators.

At the launch ceremony, 26 individuals including heads of local institutions and social organizations, journalists, and sports officials were appointed as organizing committee members.
The ceremony proceeded with the awarding of appointment letters, preparation status reports, approval of the organizing and executive committee operation regulations and budgets for the three events (including the Jeollanam-do Sports for All Grand Festival), and the reading of a resolution.
In particular, local institutions and organizations such as Wando Fire Station and Wando Office of Education attended and agreed to establish a cooperative system for the successful hosting of the event. The president of the Wando Sports Council and the executive vice president of the Wando Disabled Sports Association were appointed as vice chairpersons to establish a support system for operations.
Starting with the launch ceremony, the organizing committee, taking its first step in preparing for the event, plans to devote efforts as the highest advisory and support body to ensure the successful hosting of the festival.
The county expects that hosting the event will promote harmony among Jeonnam residents and athletes, and by providing athletes with Wando’s specialized "marine healing" programs such as sports rehabilitation, it will contribute to the promotion and revitalization of the marine healing industry.
Shin Woo-cheol, organizing committee chairman (Wando-gun governor), said, "I hope the launch ceremony will be the cornerstone for the successful hosting of the three events," and asked for the active cooperation of the committee members in creating the best possible event environment.
Meanwhile, following last year’s "Jeollanam-do Sports Festival" and "Jeollanam-do Disabled Sports Festival," Wando-gun will host the "19th Jeonnam Senior Sports for All Grand Festival" in May, the "2024 Jeonnam Disabled Sports for All Festival" in September, and the "36th Jeonnam Sports for All Grand Festival" in October.
