111 Types of Public Data Including Disaster Safety Facilities, Vacant Houses, and Public Property Loaded... Anyone Interested Can Download the JongnoPick Application and Check Related Information Through the 'Digital Gujeong Status Board'
Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will officially provide the 'Smart Public Data Service' through the JongnoPick application starting from the 22nd of this month.
This service focuses on collecting, analyzing, and combining a total of 111 types of public data?from disaster safety facilities to vacant houses and shared properties?visualizing them in the form of GIS maps, and making them accessible anytime and anywhere.
Since its initial establishment in 2022, the system has undergone a six-month enhancement project, completed in January 2024, after gathering feedback from various departments to improve inconvenience issues and increase system efficiency.
The most significant change from this enhancement project is the application of 'mobile service.' Previously, to handle tasks related to disaster safety facilities, shared properties, or vacant houses located throughout the area, personnel had to carry paper documents for on-site verification and review, which was inconvenient. However, with the introduction of mobile service, staff can now instantly access relevant information on their mobile phones and process tasks more quickly.
The second change is the 'expansion of data openness.' Until now, urban information such as population and housing, various disaster safety information, and air quality data, which were collected and managed for internal use, are now provided to residents through a digital district status board. The district status board is linked with the Jongno-gu application 'JongnoPick.' As a result, anyone who wishes can easily and quickly check public data by accessing the app.
Additionally, various information tailored to user needs, such as road views, route finding, road excavation, construction status, and big data analysis visualization materials, are comprehensively provided.
Last year, Jongno-gu was the only one among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul to be selected as an 'Excellent Institution for Public Data Improvement' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving external recognition for its efforts to revitalize public data services. It also obtained smart city certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “Having completed the service enhancement over the past six months, we are now able to provide a smart public data service that increases satisfaction for both residents and staff.” He added, “We will continue to strive for objective and scientific policy-making based on data and promote smart administration that enhances resident satisfaction.”
