Work 3 or 5 hours a day, 5 days a week for about 4 months... Resource recycling, umbrella repair, environmental maintenance, etc.
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will recruit participants for the "2024 First Half Regional Community Job Project" for one week from February 1 to 6 PM on February 8.
The Regional Community Job Project is a program aimed at providing direct jobs utilizing local resources to vulnerable employment groups such as low-income individuals and long-term unemployed, promoting livelihood stability and employment security.
A total of 29 people will be selected for six projects: ▲ Visiting Job Development Team ▲ Resource recycling through collection and sorting of waste materials ▲ Park environment and facility maintenance ▲ Illegal advertisement recycling and cleanup ▲ Visiting knife sharpening and umbrella repair center ▲ Alley patrol and environmental maintenance.
Eligibility includes Gwanak-gu residents aged 18 or older with work ability as of the announcement date (including foreign residents with registration cards), whose household income is below 70% of the median income and assets are below 499 million KRW. However, ▲ duplicate or repeated participants ▲ those entitled to unemployment benefits as of the project start date are restricted from participating.
Participants will work five days a week for about four months from March 4 to June 30, working either 3 or 5 hours per day depending on age (under 65: 5 hours, 65 and older: 3 hours).
Participants will also receive various work benefits such as ▲ enrollment in the four major insurances ▲ paid holidays ▲ parking and monthly leave allowances.
Residents wishing to participate can check the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Recruitment Announcements) and apply in person at the community service center of their registered address with the required documents.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "Jobs are the best welfare. I hope securing regional community jobs will help stabilize residents' lives and overcome the employment crisis even a little," adding, "We will continue to strive to create stable and sustainable jobs to recover the local economy and improve residents' happiness index."
