Hamyang-gun Implements Comprehensive Plan for a Safe and Comfortable Lunar New Year Holiday

By February 12, Establish 16 Detailed Plans in 4 Major Areas
Minimize Inconvenience to Residents

Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will implement a 'Lunar New Year Holiday Comprehensive Plan' until February 12 to create a safe and comfortable holiday atmosphere.

During this period, the county will establish a continuous response system according to 16 detailed action plans in four major areas: ▲thoroughly safe holidays ▲stabilization of low-income households and spreading a culture of sharing ▲resolving inconveniences in residents' daily lives ▲establishing public service discipline.

First, centered on the Planning and Audit Officer's Comprehensive Situation Room, 28 personnel from 11 teams, including field workers from 11 towns and townships, will begin emergency duty to promptly handle various incidents, accidents, and civil complaints, minimizing inconvenience to residents.

To prevent various safety accidents such as disasters during the Lunar New Year holiday, a disaster and accident response team will be operated, continuously managing situations through prior snow prediction and rapid situation dissemination, and actively promoting wildfire prevention measures during the holiday period.

Additionally, an emergency quarantine response team will be operated to maintain a response system for emergencies such as infectious disease outbreaks, and emergency medical institutions, clinics, and pharmacies that are open during the holiday will be designated to minimize gaps in medical care.

A Lunar New Year holiday low-income price stabilization situation room will be operated to inspect prices, verify the implementation of origin labeling and price tag systems, and revitalize the local economy through campaigns promoting traditional market use and Onnuri gift certificate refund events.

In particular, to support vulnerable groups during the Lunar New Year and spread a culture of sharing, the county will actively strengthen the social safety net and create a warm holiday atmosphere by visiting low-income elderly care households, enhancing safety checks for elderly living alone, and visiting social welfare facilities and marginalized neighbors.

Along with this, emergency measures have been prepared to minimize residents' inconveniences related to water supply and sewage, gas, and household waste during the holiday period.

The county has prepared inspections of water supply and sewage facilities and emergency water supply measures to resolve residents' inconveniences related to water supply and sewage during the holiday, operates emergency collection teams for timely household waste disposal, strengthens guidance and crackdown on illegal dumping, and establishes a rapid collection system to prevent household waste accumulation during the holiday.

Also, anticipating many visitors returning home to Hamyang, a special traffic countermeasure situation room will be operated to manage vehicle traffic conditions and safe driving during the holiday period, supporting tourists and returning visitors.

For the convenience of civil petitioners, unmanned civil service issuance machines (operating locations: main office, Hamyang-eup, Macheon, Sudong, Anui, Seosang township offices) will be pre-inspected, and emergency civil complaint reception and processing through the comprehensive situation room will minimize inconvenience.

A county official said, “We will actively implement the comprehensive Lunar New Year holiday plan closely related to residents' safety and daily civil complaints to ensure that residents and returning visitors can have a safe and happy Lunar New Year holiday.”
