Gyeonggi Province is recruiting companies to participate in the digital advancement of root industries such as mold manufacturing.
The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency announced on the 30th that it is calling for promising root companies with mold and welding technologies to participate in a digital advancement project aimed at business growth, with applications open until the 8th of next month.
The ‘Regional Specialization Project,’ led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is a policy that seeks balanced regional development by strengthening key sectors of the local economy using the unique characteristics and excellent resources of local governments.
Gyeonggi Province was finally selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ root industry sector (mold and welding technology) regional specialization project and will invest up to 78.3 billion KRW over three years.
The recruitment target is small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province engaged in mold and welding industries.
Companies selected for the ‘Regional Specialization Project’ will be eligible to apply for four exclusive support programs from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups: ▲SME Innovation Voucher ▲SME Policy Funds ▲Smart Factory Support ▲Export Voucher.
Overlapping support across categories is possible, and each company can receive up to 500 million KRW in support.
Kang Seong-cheon, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, urged, "The root industry is a core sector for South Korea’s economic growth, and since this is a focused digital transformation support project for mold and welding companies in the province, we ask for active participation to turn this into an opportunity for business innovation."
