PD Kim Won-seok and Writer Im Sang-chun Collaborate
IU and Park Bo-gum star together in 'Poksak Soksassuda,' which will be introduced in over 190 countries. Netflix announced on the 30th that it will be released as an original series. The drama, which has attracted attention as a collaboration between PD Kim Won-seok of 'Misaeng,' 'Signal,' and 'My Mister,' and writer Im Sang-chun of 'When the Camellia Blooms,' unfolds the adventurous life of Aesun and Gwansik, who were born in Jeju. The title 'Poksak Soksassuda' is a Jeju dialect phrase meaning 'Thank you for your hard work.'
IU, meeting PD Kim Won-seok for the second time after 'My Mister,' portrays Aesun. She is a determined rebel who was born and raised in Jeju and confronts her given fate. Park Bo-gum plays Gwansik, a man of action rather than words, who has loved Aesun devotedly since childhood. Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon play the two characters in their middle age, respectively. Netflix predicted, "Writer Im Sang-chun's uniquely human and heartfelt storytelling, depicted with delicate emotions, will resonate deeply with many viewers."
