The joint service-learning performance sharing meeting of five universities from Busan, Seoul, Gwangju, and Jeonju was held at Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan).
The event was attended by Dongmyung University, Gwangju Women's University, Seoul Women's University, Jeonju University, and Gwangju University.
The first service-learning performance sharing meeting was held as a joint event of three universities hosted by Dongmyung University, the second was a joint event of four universities hosted by Gwangju Women's University, and this third performance sharing meeting expanded to a joint event of five universities hosted by Dongmyung University.
Service-learning is a concept that combines service and learning. Dongmyung University signed an MOU with Busan City as a regional problem-solving platform and pursues continuous achievements through industry-academia cooperation programs.

The performance sharing meeting held on the 24th, hosted by Dongmyung University CareerAction Center, featured a congratulatory speech by Shin Dong-seok, Director of Industry-Academic Education at Dongmyung University, followed by reports on achievements including ▲ Service-learning expanding community connections (Professor Im Gwi-ja, Gwangju Women's University) ▲ Do-ing community practice model TU service-learning (Professor Lee Ji-eun, Dongmyung University) ▲ Sustainable global service-learning (Professor Yoo Sook-young, Seoul Women's University), and ▲ Jeonju University service-learning (Professor Kim Min-young, Jeonju University).
Oh Sun-ah, Director of the Educational Innovation Research Institute at Gwangju University, presented a research report on the development of a lifelong learning-based community-oriented service-learning (LCSL) model. Student presentations from three teams of Gwangju Women's University and four teams of Dongmyung University also attracted attention.
Three teams from Dongmyung University's Department of Korean Language Education and Multicultural Studies (Advisor Professor Kim Sang-su), Gwangju Women's University's Department of Secondary Special Education (Advisor Professor Lee Nan-kyung), and Department of Beauty Science (Advisor Professor Lee Jeong-hee) received awards for outstanding case presentations.
The Department of Nursing (Advisor Professor Kim Seong-hae), Department of Visual Design (Advisor Professor Kim Jae-ik), and Department of Beauty Industry (Advisor Professor Tae Dong-suk) at Dongmyung University, along with Professor Im Gwi-ja’s team from Gwangju Women's University, received awards for excellent global service-learning activities.
Professors from the five universities, Researcher Lee Ji-eun from Seoul Women's University, and Heo So-ram, Head of the Saha-gu Revitalization Promotion Team, among others from local organizations, held discussions on inter-university cooperation for service-learning.
Through this presentation and discussion, the specific methods of service-learning and students’ learning growth stories shared are expected to invigorate not only university education but also adult lifelong education and global service-learning.
