Jindo-gun Implements Reward System for Reporting Households in Crisis

Discovering Welfare Blind Spot Crisis Households... 50,000 Won Reward per Case Provided

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Hee-su) is implementing a reward system for reporting vulnerable households.

According to the county on the 29th, the reward system for reporting vulnerable households provides a reward of 50,000 KRW per case to residents who report households in welfare blind spots that are selected as recipients of the Basic Livelihood Security Program.

The target households for reporting are those facing crisis situations such as unemployment, business closure, illness, disability, or economic difficulties. Reporting obligors such as village chiefs, honorary social welfare officers, members of the Community Social Security Council, and public officials are excluded from receiving rewards.

If you discover a vulnerable household, you can report it by visiting or calling the administrative welfare center of the town or township where the household resides.

Once a report is received, the reporter and the target household are verified, and an application for social security benefits is submitted. After the investigation and decision on social security benefits are completed, the reporter is informed whether they qualify for the reward and the reward is paid.

However, the total reward paid to the same reporter does not exceed 300,000 KRW per year.

The county plans to promptly visit reported vulnerable households to conduct on-site investigations and provide emergency welfare support and other welfare services to actively help the households overcome their crisis.

Governor Kim Hee-su said, “I hope the reward system for reporting vulnerable households will serve as an opportunity to watch over and inform about neighbors in need,” and urged, “If you find neighbors in difficulty, please report immediately to the town or township administrative welfare center.”
