"Envisioning the Future of University Education" ... Dongmyeong University-Korea Youth Policy Institute Hold Forum

Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) and the Korea Youth Policy Institute (Director Kim Hyun-chul) held a forum titled “Envisioning the Future of University Education” at Dongmyung University on January 26, from 4 PM for two hours.

This forum was organized to propose new alternatives for university education by discussing innovative university education programs centered on experiential learning and the direction of university education in the era of digital transformation.


Kim Hyun-chul, Director of the Korea Youth Policy Institute, presented on the topic “Dreaming of Youtbersity and Free University Education,” outlining the future direction of university education, including digital transformation education and free higher education.


As a lifelong education approach to free higher education, he newly proposed the use of YouTube with various cases and directions under the concept of “Youtbersity (youtube + university).”


President Jeon Ho-hwan introduced the Doing Education philosophy and methods being promoted at Dongmyung University, and presented the university’s “6 Doings” policy and direction, showcasing the future-oriented policy planning and educational methods that Dongmyung University aims for.


During the open discussion, a wide range of topics were comprehensively debated to find common ground for future education, including experiential and doing (do-ing) education, AI-based education, ecological transition education, and IB education.


President Jeon Ho-hwan proposed continuous cooperation between the two institutions to academically research and disseminate Doing Education, to which Director Kim Hyun-chul responded positively, expressing hope for ongoing exchange and collaboration.


The forum proceeded in the order of introducing participants from both institutions and opening remarks, an introduction to Dongmyung University, the keynote presentation by the Director of the Korea Youth Policy Institute, an introduction to Dongmyung University’s Do-ing education, and an open discussion.
