'Groundbreaking Detailed Design Service Kickoff Meeting' on the 26th

A region-specific training institute for employees of small and medium-sized enterprises will be established in Jeonnam.

The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 29th that it held the "Jeonnam Training Institute (tentative name) Construction Detailed Design Service Kick-off Meeting and Fairness & Integrity Contract Execution Pledge Ceremony" at the SBC headquarters in Mok-dong, Seoul on the 26th.
SBC is promoting the construction of a specialized training institute for small and medium-sized ventures in Gwangyang City, Jeonnam, aiming to foster key industries in the South Coast and South Central regions and to accelerate the transition to carbon neutrality. The total project cost is 29.4 billion KRW. The site area is 32,995㎡ (approximately 9,980 pyeong), with a total floor area of 8,900㎡ (approximately 2,700 pyeong), planned to be built with 1 to 5 floors above ground.
At the kick-off meeting, the project overview and architectural design plans for the Jeonnam Training Institute were reported, excellent cases of training institutes nationwide were shared, and on-site opinion exchanges were held for the establishment of specialized training institutes for key industries in the South Coast and South Central regions such as aerospace, steel, petrochemicals, and shipbuilding. The South Coast and South Central regions include nine key cities and counties centered on the South Coast: Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, Goheung, Boseong in Jeonnam, and Jinju, Sacheon, Namhae, Hadong in Gyeongnam.
Along with the kick-off meeting, a fairness and integrity contract execution pledge ceremony was also held. The pledge ceremony was organized to promise fair and transparent project execution between SBC and the contractor. In particular, they pledged to comply with laws and procedures, prohibit unfair benefits and acts, and prevent human rights violations. Education on employee integrity and the complaint and public interest reporting system for corruption and power abuse was also conducted.
Jo Han-gyo, Director of Human Resources Development at SBC, said, "With the construction of the Jeonnam Training Institute, we expect balanced regional development through employment and economic revitalization by nurturing and supplying core personnel needed for key local industries," and added, "We will prevent unfair acts that may occur during the construction process in advance and become an SBC trusted by the public through internalizing integrity among employees."
