CoreAsia, a system semiconductor design specialist company, is partnering with the Indian government to foster the local semiconductor industry.
CoreAsia announced on the 29th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SFAL (Semiconductor Fabless Accelerator Lab), an Indian fabless support association.
CoreAsia plans to use this MOU as a starting point to actively enter the Indian market. The company intends to accelerate product development cooperation with SFAL and Samsung Foundry, using its local office established in Delhi as a key base.
Through collaboration with SFAL, CoreAsia aims to actively participate in semiconductor-related projects within India, including securing top-tier global IT human resources, discovering promising local fabless startups and IP companies, collaborating with SFAL’s global partners, and participating in government-led development projects. Above all, since the Indian government is directly leading SFAL with the goal of nurturing the domestic semiconductor industry, CoreAsia expects various business opportunities to arise in the future.
SFAL is a fabless industry support association operated by the Indian government. Based on government support, it is responsible for building the semiconductor ecosystem by revitalizing local fabless startups and encouraging the creation and development of semiconductor products and IP. Additionally, to foster the local semiconductor industry, SFAL implements various support measures such as matching demand and supply companies, semiconductor-related education programs, and workforce training.
A CoreAsia representative stated, “India is actively promoting the semiconductor industry at the government level as it is essential for the country’s growth into a future advanced industrial powerhouse. Since SFAL plays a key role in this national policy, we expect this agreement to provide a foothold for entering the rapidly growing Indian market.”
