"A Party That Embraces the Political Moderates of the Seoul Metropolitan Middle Class and Chungcheong Region Must Rebuild"
Park Gyuntaek, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for Gwangsan-gu (Gap), Gwangju Metropolitan City, emphasized that “to achieve victory in this general election, the party must be reborn as one that embraces the middle class in the metropolitan area and the political centrists in the Chungcheong region for regime change.”
On the afternoon of the 27th, Park held the launch ceremony of the election headquarters and the ‘Bringing Spring to Gwangsan - Gwangsan Leap Vision Declaration Ceremony’ at his campaign office, announcing this stance.
The launch ceremony and vision declaration ceremony were attended by 500 election headquarters officials and volunteers.
Park stated, “This National Assembly election should serve as an opportunity to end politics of hatred and politics of enmity,” adding, “We must realize politics of unity and happiness that make the lives of the people and local residents happy.”
He also expressed his determination, saying, “We must promptly resolve the long-standing issues in Gwangsan, such as the relocation of the military airfield and the abolition of the Pyeongdong artillery range, which are currently stalled or not progressing,” and “If I enter the National Assembly with your support, I will strive to solve these pressing issues.”
The launch ceremony of Park Gyuntaek’s preliminary candidate election headquarters proceeded in the order of encouragement speech by Song Byungtae, the general election committee chairman, candidate’s greeting, voice of Gwangsan, announcement of the election headquarters list, and appointment certificate ceremony, with attendees pledging victory in the general election.
