Implementation of Support Project for Revitalizing Technology Transactions in Small and Medium Enterprises
On the 28th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced the launch of the "2024 Support Project for Revitalizing Technology Transactions for SMEs," a program consisting of integrated support and infrastructure development to activate the technology transaction market for small and medium-sized enterprises and assist in the commercialization of technologies transferred to SMEs.
This program matches specialized personnel in the field of technology commercialization to conduct technology diagnostics. Through this, it provides comprehensive support including commercialization planning (up to 6 million KRW) that offers a commercialization roadmap and strategic consulting, support for commercialization technology development costs for transferred technologies of SMEs (30 million to 100 million KRW), and compensation for interest costs incurred when utilizing the Intellectual Property Acquisition Guarantee from the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
In particular, starting this year, to improve the success rate of commercialization after technology adoption, consulting services have been expanded beyond technology, management, and market analysis to include consulting for receiving know-how directly from inventors. Additionally, the use of commercialization development costs has been improved to allow unrestricted use regardless of purpose (lifting the 20% limit on materials and equipment costs).
The scope of secondary interest subsidy support, which was previously available only to selected program companies, has been expanded to include non-selected companies. Furthermore, to alleviate the cost burden of technology transactions for SMEs, the program supports technology valuation that provides appropriate price information for technologies and operates a subsidy program for brokerage fees incurred upon successful transactions.
