Former Captain Lee Geun, who is currently on trial for illegal entry into Ukraine, assaulting a YouTuber, and a hit-and-run motorcycle accident, has been handed over to the prosecution again on charges of driving without a license.

On the 27th, the Suwon Southern Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that earlier this month, Lee was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving without a license).

Lee is accused of driving his car without a license from his home in Maetan-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon City to the nearby Suwon Southern Police Station at around 6:10 p.m. on September 6 last year.

Lee had his license revoked after being convicted of leaving the scene without providing aid following a collision with a motorcycle while driving in Seoul in July 2022, under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (hit-and-run causing death).

Earlier, he was reported to the police for using a simulated firearm in a YouTube video, and while visiting the Suwon Southern Police Station for investigation of that case, he was caught driving, which led to the discovery of his unlicensed driving.

After this fact became known, Lee posted on his YouTube channel, "Regarding the unlicensed driving, of course, I didn’t know, so no problem," which drew criticism.

In addition, shortly after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in March 2022, Lee left the country without permission and joined the Ukrainian foreign unit 'Territorial Defense Forces International Brigade,' was injured, and returned in May of the same year.

He was subsequently prosecuted for illegal entry into Ukraine (violation of the Passport Act) and hit-and-run in July 2022, receiving a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year probation in the first trial, and is currently undergoing an appeal trial.

On March 20 last year, Lee was again indicted for assaulting YouTuber Lee Junhee (stage name Guje-yeok), who came to attend the first hearing of this case, and was fined 5 million won.

Meanwhile, Lee is a former captain of the Navy Special Warfare Unit (UDT/SEAL) and became famous in July 2020 by appearing as an instructor on the web entertainment show 'Fake Men.'
