Large-Scale Hanwoo Discount Ahead of Seol... 50% Off Compared to Usual Prices

A nationwide Hanwoo beef discount event offering up to 50% off will be held ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 28th that, in cooperation with the Korea Hanwoo Association, Hanwoo Fund, and NongHyup Economic Holdings, a large-scale nationwide Hanwoo discount sale will be simultaneously conducted for 12 days from the 29th of this month to the 9th of next month at 29 online and offline companies and 1,885 stores nationwide.

During the discount event, Hanwoo beef will be sold at prices up to 50% lower than the regular selling price.

For example, 1st-grade sirloin will be sold at 8,180 KRW or less per 100g, 1st-grade brisket at 4,620 KRW or less, and 1st-grade bulgogi and soup cuts at 3,020 KRW or less. Compared to the prices during the same period last year, these prices are up to 30% cheaper.

The 'Online Hanwoo Market' operated by the Hanwoo Fund will start the discount event from the 29th, and major online malls, large marts, and supermarkets will begin the event as early as the 31st. Among individual companies, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, which has the largest number of participating stores (549), will start the discount event from the 2nd of next month.
