IBK Industrial Bank Hosts Exhibition of Artists with Developmental Disabilities 'IBK Dream Wings 展'

IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 26th that it will hold an exhibition titled 'IBK Dream Wings Exhibition' in the lobby of the IBK Euljiro Headquarters in Seoul until the 23rd of next month to nurture and support adult artists with developmental disabilities.

Since April last year, IBK Industrial Bank has been operating the IBK Dream Wings Project in collaboration with the Milal Welfare Foundation to discover adults with developmental disabilities who have artistic talent and help them become professional artists. IBK Dream Wings artists underwent a professional artist training program for nine months, including one-on-one art education, participation in exhibitions, and support for promoting their works.

This 'IBK Dream Wings Exhibition' is held to share the nine-month journey of the developmental disability artist nurturing project. Fourteen participants, including 10 artists selected for the first IBK Dream Wings cohort and 4 mentor artists with developmental disabilities, will showcase 76 paintings.

Visitors can experience various works featuring the artists' unique imaginations, such as a dog walking with whales in the sea, animals going on an autumn trip by car, a flying turtle, and a bear and rabbit fishing in the sky.

Additionally, themed exhibitions created collaboratively by mentors and mentees, such as 'Animals and Buildings' and 'Ceramics and Minhwa (Korean folk paintings),' are also prepared. Jeon Min-jae, an artist affiliated with IBK Dream Wings, expressed, "Thanks to IBK Industrial Bank's sponsorship, I was able to grow further," adding, "I am grateful to be recognized as a full-time artist and to take one more step toward my dream."

An IBK Industrial Bank official said, "We hope the IBK Dream Wings Project will serve as a foundation for the social and economic independence of adult artists with developmental disabilities," and added, "We will continue to discover and support talented artists with developmental disabilities in the field of art."
