Medical Staff: "1cm Injury on Back of Head... Monitoring Progress After Two Sutures"
The assailant who attacked People Power Party lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin on the street is known to be a male middle school second-year student. On the 25th at around 5:18 PM, Rep. The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has arrested the assailant on charges of aggravated assault and is currently investigating.

Rep. Bae, whose scalp was torn due to the attack, was transported to Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Seoul, where she received suturing treatment and is currently hospitalized to rest.
Park Seok-gyu, a neurosurgery professor and her attending physician, held a briefing at the hospital, stating, "When Rep. Bae arrived at the emergency room, she was conscious and clear, and there was bleeding from the scalp. She appeared anxious, likely due to shock, but is now resting in her hospital room."
Rep. Bae sustained about a 1 cm injury on the back of her head, and since the occipital area was slightly swollen, a CT scan was performed, and the wound was sutured twice with a stapler.
Professor Park explained, "There appear to be no signs of delayed bleeding or fractures, but sometimes microbleeding inside the skull can be seen over time, so we need to monitor her condition."
He added, "If symptoms are not severe, she can be discharged soon, but in many cases like this, patients complain of concussion symptoms, so if that happens, further care may be necessary."
He continued, "There is currently no need for excessive worry, but we need to observe the progress," and added, "Additional tests such as MRI will be conducted to check for other findings."
Upon arrival at the hospital, Rep. Bae reportedly said that "after being hit on the back of the head, I fell backward and hit my head on the floor."
The medical staff found wounds around her eyes and face that appeared to be scratches from a sharp object, which were presumed to have been caused by the fall, and they disinfected the injuries.
