They continued, "Although the Dalbit Railroad special bill was proposed last August by a record 261 lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties in the history of the constitution, there were difficulties in enacting the law due to opposition from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and others," and said, "Many people have worked hard. Thank you all. In particular, we deeply thank Chairman Lee Mankyu of the Daegu Metropolitan City Council and the city council members who issued a joint statement with our council for the passage of the law."

They also emphasized, "The Dalbit Railroad will achieve harmony between Yeongho and Nam and resolve the crisis of local extinction," adding, "It is expected to promote balanced national development by connecting the entire country when it meets existing railroads such as the Honam Line and the Gyeongbu Line."

They further stated, "The Gwangju Metropolitan City Council will do its best at the council level to ensure that the construction proceeds smoothly and normally by 2030 as originally planned, cooperating closely with the executive branch as well as the political circles until completion."
