Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, visited the site of the entrapment accident at Sadang Station on Lines 2 and 4 and the platform convenience facility installation construction site on the 24th to conduct an inspection aimed at preventing major accidents.
Baekho, who visited Sadang Station where a passenger entrapment accident occurred at the platform safety doors on the 12th, focused on inspecting the causes of the accident and measures to prevent recurrence. He also visited the construction site for the installation of an external escalator at Exit 8 to check compliance with winter construction site safety regulations.
In addition, the corporation recently conducted a thorough inspection of the platform safety door individual control panel program errors at 275 stations on Lines 1 to 8 to prevent recurrence of passenger entrapment accidents and confirmed that there were no abnormalities.
Starting with the platform convenience facility installation construction site at Bokjeong Station on Line 8 on the 11th, Baekho and heads of various departments have been actively responding to the prevention of major accidents by personally conducting weekly on-site safety management inspections.
Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, stated, “With the absolute goal of protecting citizens’ lives and safety, we must always identify risk factors in advance and conduct frequent inspections and management.” He added, “The management will continue efforts to secure the safety of subway users by going directly to the site for regular and repeated inspections to prevent major accidents in the subway in advance.”
