‘A Mine Where Animals Are Also Happy’... Creation of the Complex Community ‘MyPet Land’
Promotion of Standardized Medical Fees and Income Deduction... Establishment of Adoption Education Center
Kim Seong-jin, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for the Gwangsan-gu (Eul) district of Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced his ninth pledge as the 'Pet Policy'.
As of 2022, there are an estimated 130,000 households raising pets and approximately 290,000 pet owners in the Gwangju area. Pets are considered another family member, and this pledge promises to ensure that people and their pets can live happily together.
First, there are plans to create a pet complex community called 'My Pet Land'. It will include facilities such as a pet-friendly camping site, swimming pool, and dog playground, as well as a training center and adoption center, presenting a leading model that encompasses a healthy pet culture.
Candidate Kim said, "Regarding the biggest difficulty faced by pet owners, medical expenses, we will introduce a standard fee system for pet medical treatment and income tax deductions to alleviate the burden of medical costs."
He added, "We will establish a pet adoption education center to provide education programs that teach pet management methods and pet etiquette, and offer socialization training to prevent impulsive purchases and abandonment."
