Wildlife Feeding Event Held
Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it conducted an illegal trap collection and wild animal feeding event simultaneously in Deokcheon-ri, Yugok-myeon, an area with a high frequency of wild animal appearances during winter.
The collection activity took place on the 17th with the participation of about 20 people from Uiryeong-gun, Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, and the Uiryeong branch of the Wildlife Management Association. All 20 illegal traps collected that day were disposed of.

The county plans to continuously carry out collection and patrol activities of illegal capture tools due to concerns over the destruction of the wild animal ecosystem balance caused by poaching and illegal trade activities.
In addition, to prevent the installation of illegal traps by farmers suffering crop damage as well as professional poachers, the county will actively promote legal methods such as obtaining permits for capturing harmful wild animals.
An official from the Environment Department stated, “Voluntary reports from residents are necessary to protect wildlife,” and urged participation in wildlife protection and the eradication of poaching and illegal trade.
