[Concall] SK Hynix "On-device AI Market Blossoms This Year... Shipment Volume to Expand Significantly Next Year"

On the 25th, SK Hynix stated during a conference call following the announcement of its Q4 results that regarding on-device AI opportunities, "The related market is expected to blossom from 2024 due to the active launch of on-device AI applied products by client companies," and "It is projected that the actual shipment volume will significantly increase after 2025."

They added, "AI PCs will require more than twice the DRAM capacity compared to existing PCs, and AI smartphones will need at least 4GB more DRAM than current smartphones," and also forecasted that "due to on-device AI demand, the amount of DRAM per device will increase."

Furthermore, they anticipated, "If killer applications that actively utilize on-device AI functions emerge, it is expected to generate mid- to long-term demand in the mature PC and smartphone markets."
