Exclusive Domestic Franchise and Distribution Rights Secured
First Offline Store Opening in Cheongdam-dong This July
"We Will Strengthen Differentiated Content"
Lotte Department Store, operated by Lotte Shopping, announced on the 25th that it has exclusively secured the domestic franchise and distribution rights for Singapore's "Bacha Coffee," known as the "luxury brand of coffee." The company plans to open its first offline store in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, in July.
Bacha Coffee is a brand originating from Marrakech, Morocco, currently operating a total of 18 stores across 9 countries including Singapore, France, Hong Kong, and Dubai. It is famous for its coffee made from Arabica beans sourced from 35 countries worldwide, offering a variety of rich flavors, as well as its interior design reflecting the concept of the Moroccan Marrakech coffee house "Dar El Bacha Palace." In Korea, Bacha Coffee is regarded as a must-visit gourmet spot and a popular place to buy gifts when traveling abroad.

After about 18 months of effort, Lotte Department Store finalized an exclusive contract for the domestic franchise and distribution rights of Bacha Coffee with Singapore's V3 Gourmet Group on September 25 last year, and will open the first offline store in Cheongdam-dong this July. Lotte Department Store will open the first store not inside the department store but in Cheongdam-dong to strengthen Bacha Coffee's competitiveness as an independent luxury brand beyond department store content.
This weekend, Lotte Department Store Cheongdam Branch will install graphics to inform customers about the opening of Bacha Coffee's first offline store in Korea. Furthermore, they plan to open additional offline stores through various channels including department stores, and target e-commerce and B2B (business-to-business) markets.
Lotte Department Store emphasized that during the process of exclusively securing the domestic franchise and distribution rights for Bacha Coffee, CEO Jung Jun-ho played a significant role by personally traveling between Singapore and Korea with the staff to explain future visions and strategies related to food and beverage (F&B) to the V3 Gourmet Group. CEO Jung shared his brand experience through tastings and communications with coffee masters at local Singapore stores, forming a consensus on future branding strategies and visions between the CEOs of both companies.
Lee Joo-hyun, Head of Content Division at Lotte Department Store, said, "Starting with the exclusive acquisition of Bacha Coffee's domestic franchise and distribution rights, we plan to strengthen Lotte Department Store's differentiated content. Especially, with the establishment of a content division directly under the CEO through the organizational restructuring earlier this year, we will be able to accelerate the enhancement of content competitiveness."
