Yoon: "Response to Low Birthrate, Neulbom School and Yubotong Integration Must Succeed"

President Yoon Suk-yeol urged thorough preparation to ensure that Neulbom School and the integration of early childhood education and care, which will be actively promoted starting this year, satisfy parents as the policy consumers.

On the 24th, after receiving a briefing from Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, President Yoon stated, "These two policies must succeed to reduce private education expenses and respond to low birth rates."

The government plans to reduce the caregiving burden on families through Neulbom School, which provides after-school care at elementary schools, and the integration of early childhood education and care curricula starting this year.

President Yoon instructed related ministries to "carefully manage the new systems starting this year, such as protecting teachers' rights, responding to school violence, and supporting students' mental health, so that these changes can be clearly felt at school sites."

He added, "Universities must also change in accordance with the times," and urged, "Please create many leading models that boldly break down the barriers between regions and universities, such as the Regional Innovation-centered University Support System (RISE) and Glocal Designated Universities, and spread them to all universities."
