Namdong-gu, Incheon proposed to the candidates running for the 22nd general election to reflect local long-standing issues and current projects in their pledges.
According to the district on the 24th, this policy proposal aims to increase the attention of central government ministries and create momentum for regional development through securing funding, targeting candidates running within the Namdong-gu area.
The policy pledges suggested by the district are divided into government-wide and district long-standing/current projects (policy proposals, securing funds, ministry consultations), consisting of a total of 17 items across 4 fields. First, at the government-wide level, they proposed ▲unifying the dedicated ministry for childbirth promotion ▲establishing unified standards related to veterans' allowances and qualifications to implement universal and effective policies nationwide.
Among the district long-standing/current projects, the district policy proposal field includes 9 projects such as ▲restoration of Mansucheon ecological stream ▲covering and utilizing the upper part of Namdong 2nd retention basin ▲expediting the project for the extension of Incheon Urban Railway Line 2 (Seochang-Dorim-Nohyeon).
In the funding and ministry consultation field, they proposed ▲support for ESG management consulting ▲national subsidy support for 5 projects including the creation of convenience spaces under the Suin Line ▲lifting the development restriction zone for the creation of Namchon General Industrial Complex.
Park Jong-hyo, Mayor of Namdong-gu, said, "I hope that the policy proposals reflecting the voices of the residents will be incorporated into the candidates' pledges, becoming a turning point that concretizes and accelerates the implementation of these projects."
Meanwhile, Namdong-gu has set this year's core district policy directions as creating a livable residential environment, building a welfare city responding to low birthrate and aging population, job creation and economic revitalization, and establishing a nature-friendly tourism belt, focusing administrative efforts on "realizing resident-centered administration that eliminates daily inconveniences."
