Premium 'Hwangjindan' Popular in Stores Near Affluent Neighborhoods

KGC Ginseng Corporation announced on the 24th that an analysis of trends for major products sold at Jeonggwanjang stores over the past year showed that the steady seller 'Hongsamjeong Everytime' had high sales in major business districts such as Gangnam, Seocho, and Yeouido in Seoul.


The purchasing age group in these areas also showed that about 40% were in their 30s and 40s, a demographic with a high proportion of young office workers. Hongsamjeong Everytime is Jeonggwanjang's representative product, containing only domestic 6-year-old red ginseng concentrate and purified water, packaged in stick-type pouches. The company analyzed that it is popular mainly in business districts because it can be conveniently consumed one stick at a time during busy work hours when fatigue recovery is needed.


Near the tourist special zone in Myeongdong, Seoul, the product 'Ppurisam,' preferred by foreign tourists, showed a higher sales rate than in other regions. Ppurisam is a product traditionally favored by Chinese tourists. Its duty-free store sales are also about 2.4 times higher compared to the entire Jeonggwanjang product line.

Jeonggwanjang's top premium line 'Hwangjindan' records high sales at stores located in traditional affluent neighborhoods such as Pyeongchang-dong and Hannam-dong in Seoul, and Suseong-gu in Daegu. Hwangjindan is a product that can help restore energy through the synergy effect of Jeonggwanjang red ginseng and precious traditional ingredients. The price is in the 20,000 KRW range per pill. The new product 'Hwangjindan Cheon Noble Line (20 pills),' which uses 'Cheonsam,' the top 0.5%, as the main ingredient and is the first health functional food to apply gold leaf, is popular as a VIP gift despite its price exceeding 1.5 million KRW, the company explained.


Additionally, 'Sanghwang Mushroom Decoction' and 'Yeongji Chaga Mushroom Decoction' had sales proportions 5 to 10 times higher than the overall average, mainly at stores near large hospitals such as Asan Medical Center in Seoul. 'Hwalgiryuk,' preferred by the 20s and 30s age group, recorded high sales at stores located in areas with a large young floating population, such as Ingye-dong in Suwon and Jungangno Station in Daejeon. 'Hongsam Oil RX Jin Clean,' which uses red ginseng oil officially recognized as an individual ingredient for prostate health, was popular in commercial districts near large traditional markets in Seoul such as Gyeongdong Market and Gwangjang Market, as well as stores near Tapgol Park, where the floating population is mostly aged 50 and above.
