Under the excellent leadership of Coach Kwak Kyung-geun, Bucheon KKK FC’s 23-player squad is achieving remarkable results from their training camp.

Coach Kwak built a brilliant career starting as a member of the South Korea U16 youth national team, then as a national team player in the 1994 USA World Cup and the 1998 France World Cup. After retiring, he transitioned to coaching in 2005. He served as the inaugural head coach of Bucheon FC’s professional team in 2012 and currently founded Bucheon KKK FC, named after his initials, dedicating himself to the development of youth soccer.

Yeonggwang-gun, the host of this stove league, solidified its status as the center of the sports industry in Jeonnam Province by winning the 2023 Korea Lifestyle Sports Award and an excellence award in the evaluation of training camp hosting performance by city and county.

With excellent training facilities including the Yeonggwang Sportium soccer-exclusive stadium, five soccer fields, and two gymnasiums, along with diverse and delicious food options and the Seohaean Expressway running through the area, Yeonggwang is recognized as a mecca for domestic training camps due to its convenient accessibility.

Winter training camps in the Yeonggwang area will see 12 high school soccer teams participating from the 8th to the 20th, 17 elementary school teams from the 29th, and 12 middle school teams from the 15th of next month, each for about 10 days.

He continued, "For the current golden age of South Korean soccer to develop further, a solid youth soccer system must be well established," and said he will do his best to successfully lead the Bucheon KKK U-18 team and contribute to the development of youth soccer.
