Asiana Airlines has withdrawn its appeal in the lawsuit against in-flight meal supplier LSG Sky Chefs Korea (LSG) regarding the payment for in-flight meal supplies.
On the 23rd, Asiana Airlines announced that it submitted a withdrawal of appeal in the lawsuit related to unpaid in-flight meal fees to the Civil Division 41 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoe-il). Asiana Airlines will pay LSG the amount decided in the first trial, approximately 18.27 billion won, along with interest and legal costs.
Asiana Airlines had signed an in-flight meal supply contract with LSG since 2003, renewing it every five years, but changed the supplier to Gate Gourmet Korea (GGK) in 2017. In response, LSG filed a lawsuit in May 2018 claiming damages for 'unfair contract termination' and unpaid in-flight meal fees, winning part of the case.
Asiana Airlines has not issued any separate statement regarding the withdrawal of the appeal.
