"Safe Lunar New Year Holiday" ... Changwon Special City Fully Prepared for Fire Prevention During Seol Holiday

Jang Geum-yong, 1st Deputy Mayor, Leads Joint Inspection of Multi-use Facilities

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam conducted a joint safety management inspection of multi-use facilities on the 23rd, led by First Deputy Mayor Jang Geum-yong, together with related organizations and private experts in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday.

Jang Geum-yong, the First Deputy Mayor, is visiting Seochangwon Nonghyup Hanaro Mart to inspect the safety management status.

This joint inspection was carried out in response to the recent series of major fire accidents. The inspection focused on Seochangwon Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, a large retail facility expected to attract many citizens during the holiday period, to assess its safety management status.

The joint inspection involved experts from various fields such as the fire department, electricity, and gas. They checked for risk factors that could compromise safety, including the proper operation of fire-fighting equipment, grounding of electrical machines and devices, and the presence of circuit breakers. They also reviewed evacuation routes and emergency plans to prepare for potential fire incidents, covering both prevention and response measures.

Deputy Mayor Jang stated, “Since multi-use facilities frequented by many citizens can lead to major accidents in the event of a fire, we will do our utmost to prevent safety accidents by eliminating risk factors through prior inspections.”
