The Korea Future Technology Education Institute announced that it will hold a seminar titled "Latest Solid-State Battery Materials (Solid Electrolytes) Development and Process Technology - Overcoming Challenges for Commercialization and Latest Technology Trends" on February 28 at the Sapphire Hall of the Federation of Korean Industries Building in Yeouido, Seoul, both online and offline.
Known as the battery of the future, solid-state batteries are next-generation secondary batteries that replace the conventional battery separator and liquid electrolyte combination with a solid electrolyte. Since solid-state batteries do not use organic solvents, their flammability is significantly reduced, greatly lowering the risk of fire, and their high energy density can increase the driving range of electric vehicles.
In fact, global companies in secondary battery materials and finished vehicles are accelerating the commercialization of solid-state batteries through research and development (R&D), while the three major domestic battery companies are also putting all their efforts into mass production of solid-state batteries. Samsung SDI is competing in the commercialization race by establishing the first solid-state battery pilot line in Korea.
This seminar will feature presentations on topics such as ▲core technologies for ultra-stable solid-state batteries and commercialization plans for large-area solid-state batteries ▲manufacturing equipment for solid electrolyte sheets and commercialization plans for solid electrolyte materials for sheets ▲development technologies and commercialization plans for high ion-conductive oxide-polymer composite solid electrolyte materials and membranes ▲development of oxide-based solid-state batteries with high ionic conductivity and flexibility ▲development trends and issues in solid-state battery commercialization ▲development of lithium metal-based solid-state batteries and conductive binder development and application technologies.
