POSCO E&C to Manage Apartment Exterior Walls Using Drone AI Technology

Development of AI Crack Management Solution 'Force Vision'

POSCO E&C announced on the 23rd that it is managing the quality of apartment exterior walls using 'POS-VISION,' an artificial intelligence (AI) crack management solution utilizing drones.

POS-VISION, developed by POSCO E&C, is a drone equipped with high-definition imaging equipment. It captures images of apartment exterior walls to detect cracks and allows for the inspection and management of detailed information regarding crack width, length, and location. Notably, it can detect small cracks as narrow as 0.3 mm, enabling timely repairs.

Additionally, based on the accumulated video data in POS-VISION, it can manage all exterior wall quality defects such as window caulking faults and concrete damage. POSCO E&C reported that the POS-VISION technology was introduced in nine projects, including highway slab construction and thermal power plant coal yard construction, allowing repair work to be completed more quickly.

POSCO E&C plans to enhance the accuracy of POS-VISION and expand its application to all construction sites to strictly manage the quality of structural construction. A POSCO E&C representative stated, "This technology is one of the results of our efforts to provide customers with the highest quality," adding, "We plan to continue adding value to the world through ongoing smart technology development and challenges toward space."
