Mayor Jo Gyu-il Visits Government Seoul Office ... Discusses Establishment of Entrepreneurship Center Mayor Jo Gyu-il is meeting with Oh Young-joo, Minister of SMEs and Startups, to discuss the establishment of the Korea Entrepreneurship Center.

Since February last year, the city has actively visited the Presidential Office, central government ministries, and the National Assembly to explain the project’s feasibility and persuade stakeholders. As a result, 300 million KRW for the feasibility study of the Korea Entrepreneurship Museum was included in this year’s budget of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

At the meeting with Minister Oh, Mayor Cho stated, “The driving force behind Korea’s economic miracle in the last century was precisely K-Entrepreneurship, and the future of Korea depends on how we inherit and develop it. The Korea Entrepreneurship Museum must be established as a hub to lead Korea’s new leap forward and innovative economic development. I ask the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to take an active interest and participate in the feasibility study for this purpose.”

Additionally, he mentioned the need to develop unified educational materials for elementary, middle, and high schools linked to the 2025 curriculum to spread K-Entrepreneurship to future generations. He also proposed installing an ‘Entrepreneurship Training Center’ for students and SME and venture entrepreneurs at the ‘Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Center.’

Currently, the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Center is used as a training facility by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency for CEOs of SMEs and ventures, but it lacks lodging facilities.

In response, Minister Oh said, “I agree on the necessity of establishing the Korea Entrepreneurship Museum for Korea’s new economic leap. I will pay attention to ensure an effective feasibility study and actively consider areas where we can collaborate with Jinju City on developing unified educational materials.”

Following the meeting with Minister Oh, Mayor Cho met with Han Su, Director of the Korea History Museum, to secure cooperation on exhibition composition and artifact sharing in preparation for the feasibility study of the Korea Entrepreneurship Museum. The two institutions plan to sign a mutual memorandum of understanding in March for the construction of the Korea Entrepreneurship Museum.

On the 19th, Mayor Cho met with Park Jae-wan, Chairman of the Council of Economic Education Organizations under the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (former Minister of Strategy and Finance), to discuss the direction of the feasibility study for the Korea Entrepreneurship Museum and received a commitment for active participation.

Meanwhile, from the 17th to the 19th, Jinju City met with key figures from major economic organizations leading Korea’s economic development, including the Korea International Trade Association, Korea Economic Federation, and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to explore various cooperation plans for the construction of the Korea Entrepreneurship Museum.
