Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Partners with Kakao Pay
4-8% Discount Based on Step Count

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance is expanding the eligibility for its auto insurance 'Anyfit Good Walking Discount Special Contract' through a partnership with Kakao Pay.

The 'Anyfit Good Walking Discount Special Contract' is an auto insurance discount special contract first introduced in the industry by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. It features a maximum discount of 5% for named insured persons aged 64 or younger, and up to 8% for those aged 65 or older.

Previously, the discount benefit was provided if the number of steps measured through Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance’s own apps, 'Samsung Fire Anyfit Plus' and 'Samsung Fire Direct Chac,' exceeded 6,000 steps on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for at least 50 days during the previous 13 weeks (91 days).

However, with the recent partnership with Kakao Pay, the Kakao Pay Pedometer has been added as a device to measure steps. Kakao Pay Pedometer users can also receive a 4-8% discount benefit when they meet the step count condition upon subscribing to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance auto insurance starting from the 19th.

The Kakao Pay Pedometer features the Kakao Friends’ representative character 'Chunsik-i' appearing in the background as if walking together. Stickers that can decorate the background through various walking-related missions are also provided. Users can check the calories burned and distance traveled corresponding to their step count. It also informs users of foods corresponding to the calories burned.

The 'Challenge' feature, which allows users to compete in step counts with friends, also provides motivation. Users can compare their step counts measured on their devices with designated friends. The competition formats range from 1:1 to team battles. Up to 5,000 participants can join ranking matches. In team matches, up to 2,500 members per team can participate. For fairness, even if users join the competition late, their steps accumulated from 0:00 on the day are counted.

To receive auto insurance discounts using the Kakao Pay Pedometer, users need to select the 'Anyfit Good Walking (Step Count) Discount Special Contract' when subscribing to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance auto insurance via the Samsung Fire app, website, or auto insurance comparison and recommendation services.

A representative from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance’s Auto Insurance Product Department stated, "Expanding the eligibility for the 'Anyfit Good Walking Discount Special Contract' through the partnership with Kakao Pay is intended to allow more customers to receive discount benefits. We will continue to expand the target audience and develop new special contracts to provide more benefits to our customers."
