8km Women's Individual Gold Medal Victory
Kim Eun-mi, a member of the Jeonnam Yeosu City Hall workplace sports team, made a pleasant start to 2024 by winning first place in the women's individual category at the '18th Seogwipo KTFL National Cross Country Competition.'
According to the city, at the competition held on the 21st at Gangchanghak Sports Complex in Seogwipo City, Jeju, Kim Eun-mi finished first in the women's division with a time of 29 minutes and 46 seconds.

Hosted by the Korea Corporate Athletics Federation and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Athletics Federation, this competition featured a challenging 8km long-distance course with mountainous terrain and many ups and downs, requiring strong determination from the athletes as it was difficult to maintain a steady rhythm throughout the race.
Notably, Kim previously earned a bronze medal in the marathon event at the 104th National Sports Festival last October, becoming the first athlete from Jeonnam to do so by completing the race despite injury, demonstrating her fighting spirit. This recent victory is seen as a result of her enhanced toughness and perseverance.
Yoon Kyung-hee, Director of the Sports Support Division, congratulated Kim Eun-mi, saying, "Despite the cold weather, we congratulate Kim Eun-mi for her best effort and victory." She added, "The Yeosu City Hall workplace sports team, which includes athletes in four disciplines?yachting, athletics, judo, and roller sports?will receive unwavering support to train in better environments in 2024 and achieve better results than last year."
