This education program is designed to support citizens who are starting or hoping to start returning to farming and rural life by providing systematic basic farming technology education and agricultural information to help them successfully settle in rural areas.

The returning to farming and rural education is operated in three courses: basic, weekend, and advanced. The basic course will be held for a total of 15 sessions, 60 hours, with 4 hours each on Wednesdays and Thursdays in March and April. Especially, the weekend course, prepared for office workers who find it difficult to attend during weekdays, will be conducted in June for a total of 5 sessions, 40 hours, with 8 hours each on Saturdays.

The number of recruits is 60 for the basic course and 40 for the weekend course, and the education is free of charge. Participants can only take one of the basic or weekend courses. The advanced course will be operated in the second half of the year as on-site practical training where prospective farmers visit leading farms in the area, and separate applications will be accepted.

Those who wish to participate in the education can download the application form from the Hwaseong City Agricultural Technology Center website and submit it via email or visit the Technical Support Division of the Hwaseong City Agricultural Technology Center in person. The candidates will be finally selected through document screening and individually notified at the end of February.

Shin Mi-young, director of the Hwaseong City Agricultural Technology Center, said, "As citizens' interest in returning to farming and rural life is increasing, we will promote demand-oriented education to help many citizens settle well in our agriculture and rural areas."
