Dongseo University Wins "University of the Year" at the 21st Seoul Video Advertising Festival

Grand Prix, Silver, Two Bronze, and Four Finalist Awards Won

Dongseo University (President: Jang Je-guk) was awarded “University of the Year” at the 21st Seoul Video Advertising Festival.


The Seoul Video Advertising Festival is regarded as the equivalent of the Grand Bell Awards in the advertising sector.


This festival is considered the most prestigious in Korea, selecting the best of the best among the numerous video advertisements released last year.


At this festival, Cheil Worldwide was named “Advertising Agency of the Year,” while Dongseo University was selected as “University of the Year.” Additionally, Dongseo University celebrated winning the Grand Prix (with a prize of 2 million won), a Silver Prize, two Bronze Prizes, and four Finalist awards in the YOUNG CREATIVE AWARDS category.


The award-winning works were produced as outcomes of the IFS course, the Creative Problem Solving course (Advertising and Public Relations), and the Ideation Convergence Practicum (Advertising and Public Relations + Software), which are integrated courses.


Held under the slogan “From the Most Popular Perspective, Most Fairly,” the Seoul Video Advertising Festival selects the best advertisements in Korea through online evaluations conducted directly by both the general public and professional advertisers.


In the first round, approximately 15,000 advertisers and netizens judged 430,000 votes. In the second round, a panel of 60 expert judges selected the finalist works. In the third round, the final main prize winners were chosen through online and offline evaluations by a panel of 22 final judges.


The award-winning works were created with support from the University Innovation Support Project Group, LINC 3.0, and the SW-centered University Project Group.


The Grand Prix-winning work, “Korea Customs Service - G-haseyo,” is a promotional video that highlights the fact that the drug smuggling report number, 125, forms the shape of the Korean letter “ㄱ” on a phone keypad, conveying the message “Remember to report drug smuggling.”


Seong Minjae said, “I am delighted to have achieved the Grand Prix at the Seoul Video Advertising Festival with what I learned over four years at the university. Thanks to the school’s support and my professors’ guidance, I was able to experience this major award, and I will strive to become a true advertising professional.”
