It has been revealed that the campaign promises of the 8th term of the Jeonnam Haenam-gun administration are being smoothly implemented with a progress rate of 60.2%.
According to the county on the 22nd, an inspection of 113 key county government tasks across five major areas of the 8th term showed that as of the end of last year, 38 projects were completed, and 75 projects are progressing normally, achieving a high progress rate exceeding 60% within one year and six months since the launch of the 8th term.
Major completed projects include the establishment of the Gosan Relics Exhibition Hall Smart Museum, the Haenam Local Food Certification System, and the creation of a forest playground in Heukseoksan Natural Recreation Forest, totaling seven completed projects. Additionally, 31 projects such as the expansion of Haenam-style ESG ethical management, the establishment and operation of the Haenam County Education Foundation, and the revitalization of agricultural exports and aquaculture industries are ongoing after implementation.
In particular, remarkable achievements have been accumulated in discovering and promoting Haenam’s future new growth industries, including △the establishment of a foundation for Solarsido activation △the creation of a carbon-neutral cluster △the establishment of an aquaculture equipment cluster △the construction of road SOC infrastructure △and the development of the country’s largest Hwawon Industrial Complex offshore wind power hinterland, drawing significant attention.
The county plans to continuously monitor the 38 completed projects to strengthen operational soundness and to continuously consult and supplement with related departments to achieve the goals of the 75 ongoing projects as early as possible.
Since the 7th term in 2018 until last year, Haenam-gun has been the only local government in the province to receive the highest (SA) grade for five consecutive years in the Manifesto Pledge Implementation Evaluation, being recognized as a model local government that best keeps its promises to residents.
A county official stated, “Pledge projects are precious promises to residents and foundational projects for Haenam’s development. We will enhance the democracy and transparency of the pledge implementation process through active communication with residents and continue to strive to complete all the 8th term pledge projects.”
