The largest information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition in Korea, the ‘2024 World IT Show (WIS 2024)’, with participation from over 500 domestic and international companies, will be held for three days from Wednesday, April 17 to Friday, April 19 at COEX Halls A and C in Seoul. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and co-organized by six organizations including the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Information and Communication Promotion Association.
Under the theme “Innovation and Connection, All Possibilities of the Digital World, World IT Show!”, this exhibition will showcase generative AI and the latest on-device products and services introduced by global ICT companies and major domestic and international telecom operators. A large number of innovative digital technology-driven mid-sized and small enterprises as well as startups will participate, creating opportunities for new business networking. Technologies and services based on LLM (Large Language Model) AI, the latest on-device new products, cloud and cybersecurity, extended reality (XR) technologies, as well as cutting-edge technologies and new products in convergence fields such as mobility, robotics, digital twins, and digital healthcare will be extensively introduced. Concurrently, the ‘2024 ICT Technology Commercialization Festival’ will be held, where public institutions and technology commercialization support organizations in the ICT/SW convergence R&D sector will share their accumulated R&D achievements with demand companies and promote business networks. Additionally, a conference sharing global ICT industry trends and developers’ interests will be held alongside the main exhibition, providing participating companies with opportunities to create ICT business networks.
In line with the government’s digital innovation (digitalization) strategy and to meet the digitalization demands across all industries, the latest technologies and products in △ AI, IoT and other ICT Convergence, △ Digital Twin & Metaverse, △ Smart Living and Healthcare, △ Robotics, △ Autonomous Driving and UAM (Urban Air Mobility) under Intelligent Mobility, △ Blockchain and Security, and △ Quantum Information Technology will be showcased. Especially this year, various industrial technologies applying big blur era convergence technologies such as △ Food Tech and Edu Tech will also be introduced.
Side events include the ‘Global ICT Trend Insight Conference’ sharing next-generation ICT key technologies and trends such as ▲ Generative AI (Gen AI), ▲ XR and Metaverse, ▲ AI-based Mobility and Robotics, ▲ Digital Twin and AI-utilized Medical and Digital Services, and ▲ Cybersecurity, which have recently attracted attention. A ‘Global ICT Buyer Export Consultation Meeting’ is also being prepared to generate tangible business outcomes through pre-matching between major overseas ICT buyers and participating companies. Furthermore, the ‘WIS 2024 New Technology & New Product Presentation’ where participating companies can showcase their latest technologies and products, as well as award ceremonies such as the ‘WIS Innovation Award’ and the ‘Korea ImpaCT-ech Grand Prize’ recognizing technological innovation of participating companies, will be held on-site, providing marketing opportunities for award-winning companies.
The organizer of this 16th edition of the event stated that the 2024 event is “the largest domestic marketplace where generative AI and the latest on-device products, which are at the center of our society’s digitalization, as well as digital technologies and mobility products that enhance productivity and corporate competitiveness across all industries, can be seen in one place.” They added, “We hope that domestic and international SMEs and startups participating in the ‘2024 World IT Show’ will actively use this event as their external marketing space, and furthermore, we will support making this year’s event the optimal space for building diverse business networks among participating companies and institutions.”
