From Premium Whiskey Starting at 10 Million Won to Local Gifts
Diverse Selection Including Trend-Reflecting Whiskeys and Regional Collaboration with Hangwa
Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) announced on the 21st that it will officially start selling holiday gift sets for 18 days from the 22nd of this month to the 8th of next month in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
They have expanded the range of choices by offering a variety of gift sets, from premium gifts that convey gratitude to special people to local gifts that consider cost-effectiveness and regional coexistence.
The Lunar New Year gift sets will be sold at the food store on the basement first floor of the main building. Premium gifts have been prepared to meet the demand for top-quality presents.
The representative product of this year’s premium gift sets, carefully selected with the highest-grade products, is the ‘Hanwoo-Bi Premium Hanwoo Special,’ composed only of 1++ grade top-quality cuts, priced at 2 million KRW. The ‘Jung Kwan Jang Hong Sam Cheon Sam 20 Ji,’ a very rare root red ginseng product produced in small quantities from carefully selected 6-year-old red ginseng, will be sold in limited quantities for 3.3 million KRW.
As representative premium liquor gift sets that match current trends, the ‘Yamazaki/Hakushu 18-Year Limited Edition’ is priced at 6.3 million KRW each, and the premium single malt whisky ‘Macallan Decandy 2022 Release,’ born from the finest raw materials by Macallan artisans, is priced at 11,972,000 KRW.
Special wines prepared in limited quantities of one bottle each include the ‘Chateau Le Pin’ at 7.24 million KRW and the legendary wine recognized worldwide for its quality, the Pomerol wine ‘Petrus 2017,’ priced at 10.03 million KRW.
Local gift sets that consider cost-effectiveness and regional coexistence have also been prepared in various ways. This year, they will again expand sales channels in local production areas by utilizing the local buyer system. The local buyer system involves directly visiting production sites and local areas in the Honam region to conduct direct transactions with producers.
The representative fruit products are apple and pear fruit sets, which guarantee quality such as sweetness, size, shape, and color from excellent farms discovered directly by buyers. The Manbok set (4 apples, 6 pears) is priced at 150,000 KRW, and the Dabok set (6 apples, 8 pears) is priced at 140,000 KRW.
The representative meat product is the ‘Hanwoo-Bi Family Value Set No. 5,’ a high-quality Hanwoo beef brand delivered directly from production sites, consisting of 600g sirloin roast and 600g bulgogi, priced at 178,000 KRW.
The representative seafood set is the ‘Yeonggwang Master Gulbi Set,’ with Manbok at 400,000 KRW (1.4kg, 10 pieces), Dabok at 250,000 KRW (1.2kg, 10 pieces), Obok at 200,000 KRW (1.1kg, 10 pieces), and Subok at 150,000 KRW (1.0kg, 10 pieces).
Additionally, ‘Anbokja Hangwa’ and ‘Hojungga Hangwa,’ produced in Damyang, Jeollanam-do, are expected to be popular with customers again this year as they were last year. The representative products of Hojungga Hangwa include the premium Hangwa set Changpyeong Hangwa No. 7 (Juknokwon) priced at 95,000 KRW and Changpyeong Hangwa No. 3 (Sigyeongjeong) priced at 55,000 KRW, which contain yugwa, gangjeong, yakgwa, maejakgwa, dasik, jeonggwa, and danggui.
Meanwhile, the gift sets can also be found online. Gwangju Shinsegae offers the ‘Shinbaek Gift Hall’ service, which allows gifting with just a phone number without needing an address through the ‘Shinbaek Gift’ service.
