Lotte Department Store, Gift Sets Composed Around Three Keywords

Lotte Department Store announced on the 21st that it will start the main sales of Lunar New Year gift sets at all 32 stores from the 22nd until February 8. Lotte Department Store presented this year’s Lunar New Year gifts with three keywords: 'Home Holiday,' 'Small Premium,' and 'Micro Curation.'

Home Holiday products respond to the increased demand for enjoying meals at home instead of dining out due to high inflation and prolonged recession. The number of Korean beef (Hanwoo) grilling set products has increased by 10% compared to last year, and seafood gifts were planned by visiting famous restaurants nationwide. Fruit gift sets expanded by 20%, mixing steady holiday items with exotic fruits.

Small Premium targets demand for high-quality products while reducing the number of table setting items. Limited-sale Hanwoo products are priced close to 3 million KRW. Lotte Department Store also explained that it expanded micro curation items, which segment the target and demand for Lunar New Year gifts. Representative products are carefully selected recommendations based on a year-long analysis of customers and products by buyers.

Shinsegae Department Store Launches Easy Pickup Targeting Single-Person Households

Shinsegae Department Store will also open special holiday gift sales stores at all locations from the 22nd and begin main sales. The ultra-premium gift sets '5-STAR' Hanwoo and fruit sets will be increased by 20% and 10%, respectively. The company explained that 5-STAR is the highest grade gift set awarded only after passing standards from production to processing and has been selling out every holiday season.

Shinsegae Department Store also increased the number of gift sets for its self-developed (PL) Hanwoo brand, 'Shinsegae Amso Hanwoo.' Additionally, considering last year’s poor fruit harvest due to heatwaves, they ensured thorough quality control for fruit sets including apples and pears. Among seafood items, they introduced a seafood traceability system in collaboration with Jeju Seongsanpo Fisheries Cooperative for hairtail fish, allowing verification of the entire process from production to sales.

This year, Shinsegae Department Store is introducing 'Easy Pickup' gift sets for the first time, which are small-sized packages designed for one- and two-person households. The company expects high customer response as these high-quality products are packaged in stylish small packages, convenient for customers who need to carry gifts themselves.

Hyundai Department Store will start the main sales event for Lunar New Year gift sets from the 22nd at all 16 nationwide stores, including the Apgujeong Main Store, as well as on the online malls The Hyundai.com, Hyundai Food Hall ToHome, and Hyundai H Mall.

Hyundai Department Store Significantly Strengthens Premium Inventory

The event will be held at all 16 food halls nationwide, including Apgujeong Main Store, as well as online malls The Hyundai.com, Hyundai Food Hall ToHome, and Hyundai H Mall. Hyundai Department Store will offer about 1,000 types of gift set products including meat, seafood, fruit, liquor, and health foods during this main sales period.

Hyundai Department Store has significantly increased the quantity of premium gift sets such as grilling Hanwoo, new fruit varieties, and master craftsman village products for this main sales. A Hyundai Department Store official said, "We expect demand for sending high-priced gifts to hometowns to increase again this Lunar New Year. We plan to introduce various high-quality products that meet customers’ expectations by increasing premium gift sets in line with changing holiday trends."

Hyundai Department Store is also introducing premium sashimi gift sets for the first time this Lunar New Year, allowing customers to enjoy fresh premium sashimi at home. Premium sashimi such as flatfish, golden flounder characterized by its golden color, and jabari (called 'Dageumbari' in Jeju) will be freshly prepared and delivered on the desired day only to stores in Seoul and the Gyeongin area.
