According to Naju City on the 20th, Mayor Yoon held focused discussions on cooperation for the prompt groundbreaking of the Energy National Industrial Complex with Jeong Su-mi, head of the LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, who visited Naju City Hall on the 18th.

Jeong Su-mi was inaugurated on the 2nd as the 15th head of the LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, becoming the first female executive in this position. She personally visited Naju City Hall that day to discuss the establishment of the national industrial complex.

The Energy National Industrial Complex is planned to be developed near the Naju Innovation Industrial Complex, covering approximately 360,000 pyeong (1,197,000㎡). It passed the preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in December 2022, and the national industrial complex planning service has been underway since May last year.

A total project cost of 308.1 billion KRW will be invested in the complex, with groundbreaking scheduled for the second half of 2025.

Naju City expects that the meeting between the heads of the two organizations will give momentum to the early groundbreaking of the national industrial complex.

Mayor Yoon Byung-tae stated, “Currently, the supply volume available compared to the demand for the industrial complex is severely insufficient, so prompt development of the complex is necessary,” adding, “I am grateful that the planning for the complex has been progressing smoothly since passing the preliminary feasibility study.”

Mayor Yoon further requested, “To gain momentum in the development of the complex, it is necessary to establish a dedicated organization jointly managed by Jeollanam-do, Naju City, and LH to oversee the national industrial complex,” and asked, “Please also consider ways to simultaneously promote compensation, construction, and sales.”

Head Jeong Su-mi responded, “The development of the Naju Energy National Industrial Complex is proceeding as planned,” emphasizing mutual cooperation by requesting, “We ask for active administrative support from Jeollanam-do and Naju City to ensure that upcoming consultations with related agencies are not delayed.”
