Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends '2024 Senior Job Project Launch Ceremony and Safety Training'

On the 19th at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2024 Public Interest Senior Job Participation Kick-off Ceremony' held at the Nowon-gu Residents' Hall Auditorium in Nowon-gu, Seoul.


The public interest senior job support project is a senior job support initiative discovered and managed by the Korea Senior Citizens Association Nowon-gu Branch, aiming to provide sustainable jobs for a total of 300 seniors with funding from the national, city, and district governments.


The seniors attending the kick-off ceremony are scheduled to work as meal assistants, senior center cleaning assistants, and school route safety guides at 246 local senior centers, 4 school zones, and 2 elementary school cafeterias.


The event was attended by about 300 people, including Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, members of the National Assembly, city councilors, district councilors, officials, and seniors. The program proceeded with the opening and national anthem, introduction of guests, greetings, job guidance, and safety education on major accidents.


Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “In line with the era of 100-year lifespans, we will make every effort at the district level to expand customized jobs and implement various welfare policies so that seniors can enjoy a vibrant and healthy old age.”
