Netmarble F&C recommends voluntary resignation to all Metaverse World employees... "Corporate liquidation"

As interest in the metaverse declines, Netmarble has begun restructuring its affiliates.

According to industry sources on the 19th, Netmarble F&C notified about 70 employees of its subsidiary Metaverse World of recommended resignation. A Netmarble F&C representative stated, "We continuously sought a sustainable business direction, but due to management conditions and market changes, we have made the difficult decision to liquidate Metaverse World, the corporation developing the metaverse platform."

Metaverse World is a metaverse-specialized affiliate launched through the acquisition of Item Games and blockchain company Bonotechnology. Metaverse World had been developing 'Grand Cross: Meta World' utilizing Netmarble F&C's intellectual property (IP).

Regarding Meta World, Netmarble F&C had formed a partnership with Mistyn Labs, an overseas company operating the blockchain platform 'Sui,' and had been conducting business agreements with domestic and international companies related to content development and operation within the metaverse. However, as the corporation enters liquidation procedures, the Meta World project is expected to be discontinued.
