Sharing Urban Gas Fees and More with Over 3,400 Vulnerable Households
KT&G Welfare Foundation announced on the 19th that it will provide a total of 850 million KRW to support energy-vulnerable groups struggling with heating costs during the winter season.
Since the end of last year, KT&G Welfare Foundation has been supporting heating costs for over 3,400 energy-vulnerable households in Seoul and the metropolitan area to alleviate the burden of fuel expenses caused by this year's cold wave and soaring heating costs. Selected beneficiaries will receive 250,000 KRW per household for heating expenses until March.
KT&G Welfare Foundation has been providing heating fuel and city gas fees annually to energy-vulnerable groups. This is one of the support projects for vulnerable groups that has continued for 20 years from 2005 to this year, with the cumulative support amount reaching approximately 12.37 billion KRW including this time.
A KT&G Welfare Foundation official stated, “We hope this will provide some help to our vulnerable neighbors who are struggling with rising heating costs such as electricity and gas fees,” and added, “We will continue sharing activities for those in need through ongoing attention to marginalized groups.”
